Birthday Date Night
Birthday Date Night
Sunday, January 31, 2010
Um, it may have been my birthday last night, but it certainly wasn’t my date night. It was Haley and the Wayneman’s date night.
We decided to go to The Melting Pot for my birthday dinner. In explaining The Melting Pot to Haley, we told her it was kind of a romantic restaurant. Since Haley is back to being in love with the Wayneman again (see Should I Be Jealous? and The Way They Were for some background on the Wayneman and Haley’s rocky relationship), she figured going out to The Melting Pot would make for a perfect date night outing.
The Wayneman didn’t disappoint the two women in his life either. For me, he bought a big beautiful bunch of tulips.
For Haley, he bought her a Bachelor-style single red rose.
It was Haley’s first flower. From a boy. She found this quite thrilling and a little bit embarrassing. But, it was perfect for her very romantic evening with her favorite guy.
After the Wayneman gave Haley her rose, she got a little embarrassed. She got into the car and showed Jennifer and just kept saying quietly to her mom, “oh it is so beautiful!!”
Haley also said that she wore her purple velvet dress and pants for the Wayneman. Because, she “heard he likes velvet.” She knows how to dress for her man.
Prior to our evening out, Haley drew this picture for the Wayneman. Let me translate it: “Wayne loves Haley, and Wayne is first place in Haley’s heart”. Oh yeah, that is exactly what she is saying with this. I love the “first place” ribbon she made. Can this girl be any cuter?
The correct answer to this question is yes. Every darn day!
We had a very nice dinner at The Melting Pot. But, at this restaurant, dessert is the main attraction! The chocolate is always a winner. Especially for Haley. She thought dipping fruit and other goodies in melted chocolate was super cool.
Oh, did Haley love the chocolate!
She ate chocolate like there was no tomorrow.
When Haley couldn’t eat anymore, she got really upset. She said in all seriousness that this was the worst day of her life. Because she was full and couldn’t eat anymore. We found this really funny. If being full and not being able to eat anymore is the worst day ever for Haley, then she has it pretty good I’d say.
Did I mention that the Wayneman enjoyed his dessert too?
After dinner, we made our way back home. It was a very nice and happy birthday for me and I think an even nicer evening for Haley and the Wayneman.
