The Eyes Are Open
The Eyes Are Open

A couple of days ago, my mom and I were over at Jennifer’s house paying a visit to my brand new, little baby niece Emily. On the day she was born, she didn’t open her eyes very much so we had a tough time deciphering the color. Since then, of course, her eyes are wide open.
Guess she figured out that there are some cool things to see in this world.
One thing about this little girlie is that she gets upset when she is uncovered. She is not into being naked that’s for sure. While we were there, Jennifer gave her a bath and as soon as the clothes started coming off, the protesting began.
I was too busy checking out these beauties though. My, what freakishly long and adorable tootsies you have Miss Emily!
“This bath business is a crock I tell ya...”
“... I totally have the upper hand in this situation though because I just pooped all over myself in my clean towel! Take that, mom!” That’s exactly what she did!
After Jennifer got her cleaned up (again), I spent some time checking out this little piece of adorable sweetness. It was just so nice to see her eyes open. The color appears to be very dark. I think they will be dark brown like Haley’s.
By the way, did you notice the curls she has on top? She’s got some nice flip action going on in a few spots.
Is there anything sweeter then this itty bitty ear??
Oh wait, a teeny tiny dimpled hand beats an itty bitty ear by a clear mile!
There is one thing I can’t get enough of when it comes to this girl though. Can you guess what it is?
Let Emily give you a hint...
Have you figured it out yet?
Botox will be her best friend someday. Probably sooner rather than later I would guess.
Hands down, its the forehead!
Seriously, her crinkled up forehead just cracks me up and I have to say I am in absolute love with it!
My mom and I woke her back up though because we weren’t done visiting with her yet.
Of course, taking a bath and pooping all over yourself is very tiring. That kind of stuff can really take it out of you!
“Seriously people, can’t a girl get some rest around here?”
The answer to that question is a big, fat NO!
Here’s a little video of Emily alert and awake.
On the Haley-front, she is warming up to her baby sister. She finally held her. I will have to get a picture of that from Jennifer.
Sometimes you have to go to great lengths for some attention when you find yourself sharing the spotlight.
Don’t worry Haley, you don’t have to try that hard, you will always be special to all of us.
Sharing the limelight is a hard thing to get used to though.
