The first ride we went on that morning was Space Mountain Mission 2.

This ride was great!  Much better than Space Mountain in California or Florida. This Space Mountain has loops and corkscrews inside! When the ride first starts, you climb up the track to this tube that is outside. Then it shoots you off super fast with a burst of steam as if you are really being launched into space. Very cool. Here’s a little video of the take off in action from outside the ride.

Here’s the launch from when we rode the ride itself. Pardon my shaky camera - hard to hold it steady when you are being thrust into fake French outer space!

I take that back.  C3PO from Star Tours speaking French is pretty stinkin’ funny too!

Good times.  Real good times!

After Space Mountain, we went over to Buzz Lightyear. Now, remember, we are in France. In France, they speak French. Can I just say that it doesn’t get much better than Buzz Lightyear discussing how to shoot the evil Zurg in French!?!

As they say in Star Wars, “May the force be with you!”

Complete with headless cowboys...

One of my favorite rides at Disneyland Paris is Phantom Manor. Which would be like the Haunted Mansion to us Americans.

The Phantom Manor looks especially creepy from the outside!

On the inside, it is very different from the American Disney Haunted Mansions. This one has this whole ghostly Bride & Groom/Wedding theme.

Toward the end of the ride, instead of taking you to a graveyard like in the Haunted Mansion, you are taken to a zombied-out Old Western town.

... and a ghostly saloon girl.

I had heard Disneyland Paris’ Thunder Mountain was the best one of all the Disney parks.  I would say I found that to be true!

Like the American Disney Haunted Mansions, Phantom Manor also has Little Liota asking folks to hurry back and bring their death certificates. Phantom Manor’s Little Liota continues the bride theme.  She also speaks in French!

Disneyland Paris’ Pirates is switched around a bit compared to Disneyland in America. On Pirates at Disneyland Paris, the scenes with all the pirates are first. Then, the second half of the ride shows all the skeleton pirates with the treasure, in bed, etc. These scenes come at the end of the ride.

In America, our Disney parks only have to worry about English and some Spanish. What really struck us at Disneyland Paris is just how many languages they have to translate into. French, English, German, Dutch, Spanish... That is a lot of languages. It gets pretty crazy!

Thunder Mountain at Disneyland Paris is really fun!  You start off by going in a tunnel underground and the ride is out on an island.

There is also an Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland Paris. This ride is very different from Indiana Jones in California though. It is called Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril.

Of course, Pirates of the Caribbean is always a favorite. I loved this version of Pirates! This Pirates felt so much more classic Disneyland! I hate how in California, they have redone Pirates with Johnny Depp all through it to match the movie. Thankfully, Pirates in Paris did not have any of that.

It has the huge Pirate ship inside...

This ride is a rickety looking roller coaster through a mine. I heard it goes backwards sometimes too. Fortunately for my motion sickness, it went forward when we rode on it.  It has a loop in it as well.

All the classic scenes are depicted here.

Can you see the hidden skull in the stone?

... and the famous “take a wench for a bride” part.

Then there’s this guy:

He comes at the very end of the ride as your boat is pulling back in to the dock so you can exit. I love how he speaks French too!

My favorite area in Disneyland Paris is Fantasyland! Of course, I am just a big kid at heart, so Fantasyland is right up my alley!

I think the Wayneman digs Fantasyland too!

Fantasyland at Disneyland Paris is just lovely with all the flowers and greenery!

They have The Old Mill...

... plus Alice’s Curious Labyrinth (which was unfortunately closed while we were there).

There’s also the Mad Tea Party! It just wouldn’t be Disneyland without the teacups!

The Wayneman loves the Teacups!  But, these ones didn’t spin as good as the ones in America, much to the Wayneman’s frustration.

Disneyland Paris has Toad Hall. However, here it is a restaurant instead of Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride.

My favorite ride in Fantasyland has to be It’s A Small World!

Small World wasn’t as long as Disneyland in America, but it was just really neat with a lot more in it to see.

I love how they represent London on this ride with the Tower Bridge and Double-Decker Bus!  Very cute!

Italy is also represented with Pisa, the Colosseum, Venice’s Rialto Bridge.

America is also one of the Small World countries!

If you are in the mood for seven minutes of cute overload, here’s the Small World ride in it’s entirety. And, guess what? They sing some of the song in French too! Serious eye-candy on this ride!

Our day at Disneyland Paris was just not long enough. We really could have used another day in the park. But we got a nice taste of this wonderful park and really enjoyed our time there.

It was time for us to say goodbye to Paris though. For the next day, we caught a high-speed Thalys train from Paris to head to our next destination - Amsterdam!
